Real World Training For Athletes and Youth Athletic Development

By Matt

Our mission is to provide the very best atmosphere for learning and developing the exceptional athlete now and for the future successes, ethically through hard work and great systems.

The Athletes Performance Zone philosophy is motivated by the possibility of enhancing the development of an athlete.  We believe that an athlete is developed over time, our Long Term Athletic Development model was created by the best experts in the sports science world , Istvan Bali, the god father of LTAD has been able to prove that given the right path, tools and actions; athletes will succeed.  We believe that functional movement is a fundamental requirement in any athletic endeavor.  The bigger that you can build the foundation of athletic development,  the higher level an athlete can perform. It is ones ability to make the most consistent and efficient movement that determines or effects the result of the action.  By creating a thorough assessment of the 5 Elelments of Success, we are better able to understand an athlete and their unique “blue print”.

5 Elements of Success:  1) Talent- Desire to improve skill sets and compete.

                                               2) Coaching- Based on scientific data and desired performance individually and through team, we will build a comprehensive plan for success.

                                              3) Physical Training/Nutrition- Structure governs function. The body must be able to perform at peak levels with minimal risk of injury, speed, strength, power, mobility and conditioning.

                                             4) Mind- Develop the right attitude for success, on and off the playing field

                                             5) Tools- Every player should be equipped with the optimal tools for success.

After determining the athlete’s  strengths and weaknesses we create an appropriate plan for the individual to follow for success, this is then re-evaluated on a consistent basis until the athlete reaches his/her goals.  Much like building the tallest buildings, the foundation must be the strongest part of the structure.  Our athlete training pyramid reflects our beliefs that the foundation is always the biggest piece.  The foundation of a great athlete/player includes, quality of movement skills, speed, strength, power, mobility, stability, flexibility, coordination, nutrition and mental strength.
