Roger Knick, Owner/Founder, Sport Performance Specialist

Roger Knick is the founder and owner of The Athlete’s Performance Zone. He is one of five liscensees of the Functional Movement Screen in the country. In addition to his degree in Exercise Science, Roger also holds certication from K-Motion, TPI Level 3, and the PGA. His playing career includes college football, professional baseball, and professional golf. His knowledge and experience have allowed him to help a wide range of athletes, from PGA and LPGA golfers to professional hockey players.
Knick has given numerous lectures on sport performance, and continues to serve as a consultant to players and college programs in golf, basketball, hockey, and baseball. He has written a number of articles on sport performance development, and is currently writing his first book.

Alex Drayson, Elite Passing Academy Director, Sport Performance Specialist

Alex Drayson is the director of the Elite Passing Academy football program and a sport performance specialist. He holds a degree from Elon University in the Psychology of Coaching and Leadership. A former Division I athlete and coach, Drayson’s skill set and background afford him a unique platform from which to help athlete’s reach their goals.
Drayson has given lectures on coaching theory and athletic development. He has founded programs for youth athletes athletic development and character development, and has spearheaded community service projects through those programs. Additionally, he has led a trip for young athletes to take part in international competition. He is currently writing his first book, The Complete Coach.
Formerly an assistant coach at Fordham University and now at Staples High School, Drayson has experience working with college and high school athletes in a team setting. Additionally, he has sent multiple players to college careers through his private coaching at the Athlete’s Performance Zone, and many of his high school athletes are currently winning recognition for their play and performance.

Matt Migiano, Programming Director, Sport Performance Specialist

Matt Migiano is the director of programming for strength and conditioning development and a head sport performance specialist. He received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Connecticut. As a graduate assistant he worked in the UConn Human Performance Laboratory which is widely recognized as the #1 ranked kinesiology department in the country. As a graduate student he also taught in the physiology and neurobiology department focusing on the anatomy and physiology laboratories.
Migiano is a lead author in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research and has given lectures on sport performance and sport nutrition. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, known for being the #1 ranked strength and conditioning certification in the country. Migiano has worked with a wide variety of high school and collegiate athletes that have gone on to be successful at the professional level. His passion for the field of strength and conditioning continues to grow as his expertise becomes greater. He enjoys challenging himself and his athletes to always strive to be their best.

Anthony Scire, Performance Director, Sport Performance Specialist

   Anthony began his successful personal training career after an “ah-ha moment” about 10 years after he graduated from San Diego State University in California in 1993 with a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice. “I did a little bit of everything – the ski thing, working on yachts, improvisation comedy and educational theater,” he says. “I have a passion for fitness and for helping people, so I thought I’d put them together and make a career as a personal trainer and has transitioned into a youth strength and conditioning coach.  Anthony has been involved in strength training since 7th grade and all sports from football in high school to playing lacrosse for San Diego State University. 

   His passion is more than just helping people and our youth become physically fit, though. “I want to find ways to help as many people as I can live healthy, productive lives, to guide them into making small, incremental changes that will become big changes in the long run.” To help in achieving that, “I’m doing more motivational and educational speaking, writing and using videos to reach as many people as possible and get them actively involved in leading a more balanced life”.  Anthony will be utilizing his talents, over the internet with FTNS Radio, the world’s first fitness radio show that streams live. His new show is called “Youth Movement, Jump Up and Join the Ride”, and will focus on youth development for athletes and non-athletes, ages 8 to 18.  His show will air live every Friday night at 7pm at; www.ftns.co.

   Anthony is the director of Youth Athletic Performance at APZ 360 helping implement their evaluation system with their youth and adult populations which includes the Functional Movement Screen, Corrective Exercise Strategies and Proficiency Testing. His duties also include running and developing APZ’s 360 strength and conditioning programs, working with one-on-one, small groups, team training as well as large groups of 20 or more.  Anthony is currently running APZ’s off-ice strength training programs for the Brewster Ice Arena Boy’s and Girl’s Bulldog Hockey programs (ages 7 to 18 years) from the mites to their top tier team, The Brewster Bulldogs of the Empire League as well as working with the Golf Performance Center’s Fundamental, Competitive, Elite and Collegiate golf programs, helping them develop their physical capabilities in power, strength, agility, conditioning and mobility.  Anthony has also been writing a fitness column for the Norwalk Hour for over 5 years, focusing on youth athletic development.

    Anthony is certified through the IYCA (International Youth Conditioning Association) as well as an IYCA youth speed and agility specialist.  He holds his Certified Strength and Conditioning (CSCS) certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a certified Level 1 FMS (Functional Movement Screen) Specialist. Anthony also holds his personal training certification through the American Fitness Professional Association (AFPA) as well as a Certified Natural Trainer (CNT) Level 1 through one of the country’s top strength coach experts, Jon Hinds of the Monkey Bar Gymnasium.
