All Ages
Before getting started in any of our programs, it is mandatory that every athlete take part in our proprietary physical and mental evaluation process. The evaluation process is a critical tool for us and the athlete, it allows us to understand the athlete’s current ability level, making it possible for us to create realistic goals and quantify progress.
In many cases the athlete is the last to know that he/she has any problem performing their respective sport or function. Many do not know they compensate dramatically for a flawed movement pattern, as well. Being able to assess the athlete’s movement patterns reveals their weakest link in detail and allows us to correct the problem and help the athlete move more efficiently, feel better, perform better and reduce their chances of injury!
Youth Performance- Active Start & FUNdamentals
Ages 2-11
Our YP program is designed for an athlete to learn proper fundamental movement skills. Science and research has proven that the ages of 2-11 are the most critical years in a child’s life when it comes to developing motor skill patterns and self esteem. By coaching them on proper movement skills such as running, jumping, skipping, hopping, kicking, throwing and catching we are building the foundation of their athletic development. Movement literacy is the foundation of all sports.
COMPLETE PERFORMANCE- Learning to Train & Training To Train
Ages 12-18
CP is designed for the young athlete to learn and develop overall physical and mental skills for sports and active lifestyle. At this stage of development the athlete should have mastered the fundamental movement skills. During this stage of development, all basic movement and sport skills should be learned before moving on. The focus of Learning to Train is on overall physical, mental, cognitive and emotional development and should be mastered prior to moving into Training to Train phase, a major physical and fitness development stage involving endurance, speed, strength and power.
The CP program has been developed with the most advanced techniques to produce maximal results for the athlete’s performance. Experts of youth athletic development suggests that the early adolescent years are prime in developing the speed, strength and power that will carry into the rest of an athlete’s life.
ELITE PERFORMANCE- Train to Compete & Win
Ages 14-21
EP is designed for the athlete desiring to play competitively in high school, college and beyond. In this program, the athletes are selected to participate by their coaches and the training staff of APZ based on their initial physical evaluation and sport skill level. The selection process is based on physical attributes such as speed, strength, sport skills and character. This is an intense focus on the individual’s needs for maximal physical and mental preparation.
During these training phases the athlete’s training program will become more specific to sport, event and position physical conditioning. Science and the experts on long term athletic development suggest that during these stages, the athlete should train a minimum of 20-40 hours per week on physical, tactical (sport specific) and advanced mental preparation.
TEAM PERFORMANCE- Sport Teams
Ages 12+
TP is designed for teams to train together, build cohesion, trust and confidence as a unit. There is more to a team’s success than just good technical players. A superior team in today’s sports is comprised of speed, strength, mobile, stable, agile, and solid mental approach to success. The integration of all of these disciplines is essential for a team and individual success. We offer workouts specific to certain sports such as hockey, baseball, football, soccer, lacrosse, golf and more!
ADULT PERFORMANCE PROGRAMS- Train for an active lifestyle
APP is designed for the active adult who wants to work out with intensity and is not afraid to push themselves because they know the reason to stay healthy may be at home waiting for them. How you feel about your self is reflected in your children and your attitude! Stay at the top of your game with this program by using an out of the box thinking training philosophy. This will jump start your healthy living, helping you become the mother/father and role model to your kids that you have always wanted to be (not to mention looking better, feeling better and being healthier!) You just gotta do it!
